Description: Dating from the reign of Queen Clarinette XIV, who was famously obsessed with arable farming, this chest is a quintessentially Quirmian refinement of the traditional Ramtops porridge kist. The top drawer, made from the same sturdy chestnut as the rest of the avoiniere, is intended to store uncooked oats, while the lower drawer is for the cooked porridge. The entire surface is carved with a detailed scene of an oat farm, showing happy peasants stooping to gather and thresh the crops, whilst a beneficient Queen sits crowned in glory (and oats) to watch over their efforts. Just to really ram the point home, she holds a carved sheaf of oats in one hand, and a Djeliate threshing flail in the other. It is open.
Appraise: The ornately decorated avoiniere is about two feet long and about a foot and a half wide. It is made of wood and could be placed as furniture. It can hold about 44 pounds, or about eighty items.
Weight: about fifty pounds
