Description: The deep cylindrical basin of this sink is large enough to hold an entire 30-piece dinner service plus epergne, and the taps are made from solid gold. The porcelain itself is the deep pink of really good rose-scented soap, densely covered with gilded scrolls and acanthus leaves. The overflow pipe is a golden rosette, centred in a band of cherubs positioned so that when the sink is full, they are bathing in the frothy water. Of course, when they aren't, they sit there in midair waving their loofahs and sponges in some strange semi-aquatic ceremony. The semicircular draining board is modelled after a Latatian ruin, with broad white steps leading up to a ring of pillars, and the whole stands on a fluted marble pediment.
Appraise: The unnecessarily ornately gilded kitchen sink is about six feet long and about five feet wide. It is made of porcelain, gold and marble and could be placed as furniture. It can hold about 22 pounds, about sixty items, or about 2 gallons.
Weight: about a hundred pounds
